6th entry - August 17, 2023

I decided to email Dr. Battles to see what was holding up the transfer of paperwork to Dr. Berryhill’s office, but wasn’t able to find an email address for him. So, Tuesday night, just before bed, I sent an email to my HA audiologist, Dr. Mathews, and explained the situation to her, asking if she would either forward my message to him or send me his email address. Usually, she responds to email messages as soon as she gets to her office, but I didn’t hear from her.

About 3:30 that afternoon (the 15th), Carolyn’s phone rang. She didn’t recognize the number so she didn’t take the call. The caller left a voice message, which she played moments after the caller hung up. It was Dr. Berryhill’s receptionist, calling to schedule my appointment. I wondered why they called Carolyn’s phone, then remembered that I had given them her number a year or so ago when I had my first contact with them, because I was having such trouble talking on the phone at that time. Anyway, my appointment with Dr. Berryhill is set for Monday, Aug. 28th, a little more than a week away. I’m not certain what all we will discuss, but I’m expecting he will lay out many of the details of the surgery. The receptionist indicated that he will schedule the date of surgery at this appointment.

This morning, I sent Dr. Mathews another email requesting additional assistance. I recalled that Dr. Battles indicated I would meet with Patricia to complete paperwork related to the surgery. But I have thus far not been asked to complete said paperwork, nor have I ever heard from Patricia. Dr. Mathews indicated that she would forward my note to Dr. Battles and would contact Patricia.
